Australian Hunters Survey
Australian Hunters Survey
A grassroots project hunters and shooters can get involved with is the Australian Hunters Survey. I know I have mentioned the survey previously, but I’d like to remind those members who have not yet completed the survey that there is still time to do so. The survey is being conducted by The University of Queensland as part of their Red Deer Research Project and has been developed to capture a snapshot of hunting activities across the country
.
SSAA National and SSAA Queensland have been two of the many collaborating partners in this project, providing both substantial funding and volunteer resources. To ensure we get the most ‘bang for our buck’ from this project, it is essential that we continue to promote the survey and I urge all members to let their families and hunting friends know about it, so they too can complete the survey. The survey is open to all hunters, not just those who hunt deer.
The more people we can get to complete the survey, the better. It can only benefit our hunting future. A larger response will allow The University of Queensland to capture a better dataset, which will more accurately measure the cultural and economic costs and benefits of hunting, not just in Queensland, but across the whole country.
The online survey is still open to all Australian hunters https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/aushuntersurvey The survey is very easy to navigate and will only take around 10 minutes to complete. Make sure that you let your hunting mates know about the survey and get them to do it before the closing date at the end of June this year.
